I wrote the seller last night and expressed my hopes that he wouldn't allow such an excellent machine go to a scrapper.
I got a reply this morning stating that they knew it was a good machine and wanted it to find a new home, but that they were under a deadline to unload it. He said someone was supposed to come today and get both machines, so with the ad pulled, that must have panned out. I do hope it wasn't a scrapper.

Sugar, if you're not already doing so, use the search term "older" in the appliance listings. That's how I found my 712 last week, and the 608 you missed out on was in the "free" listings.
