Other than fragrance and cost, is there a difference between Tide and Gain?

IIRC, from zooming around the Internet, Gain is supposed to be a mid-tier laundry detergent, while Tide of course is P&G's TOL product. However some of the technology/chemcials used in Tide have made their way down to Gain. Things such as the activated bleaching system, over powering scent that lingers (well over powering to me), and a few other things all were developed for Tide first.
