oops...lol

Dang...there was a member from kansas in this thread....sorry man, didnt mean anything personal, I have family in KC...oh well, you know what i mean anyway. Besides, this is all supposed to be about Beer, Bendixes and Blackstones anyway, hahaha.

What was the original thread?

Panthera,

You have so much hatred for people you do not know. I feel quite sorry for you.

Panthera

I love reading your prose on the subjects of sex and politics. Was that the right word to use?? .. I am just a redneck queer from the south that still has to have a few guns in the house to protect myself from these nut jobs that people seldom see in the big cities .. Rick Warren Scares the crap out of me ... Thank god Ted Haggarts big lips got him in trouble. Yes South Carolina has seen its share and we will see more.

Or, Delmer,

since that required too honest an answer from you, here's my take on things in the gay community.

I just don't get it your apathy, your denial of reality, you blind willingness to equate murder in Africa with "it's just politics, they're all the same".

This also applies to the lies your "Christian" religious leaders and all those fine, upstanding Republicans who can't keep their dicks in their pants and their hands off the necks of women they aren't married to, while at the same time jetting off to Africa to oversee the beginning of the Endlösung. Oh, sorry, right - "final solution".

What you don't get is that some gays, regardless of age, religion, other political/economic beliefs are not willing to accept second-class citizenship, are not willing to stand quietly by while we are relegated to sub-human status.

If you want to play the poor victim for these Rethuglicans and Christianists, fine - go right ahead. I'd rather go down fighting than be one of the sheeple bowing my neck to the hypocrites who oppress us.

But hey - until they have the power to impose here the legislation they are trying to enact in Uganda, you still have the right to be as pretend-caring and terribly, terribly troubled by my "hatred" as you like.

The Nazis took control of Germany because good people didn't stand up and say anything when the disaster could still have been avoided. What part of "hanging people by the neck until they have strangled to death for being gay while black" do you really think will save your neck when the time comes? You think being a gen-u-whine born-again Christian is going to cut any ice with them? You think running around saying "but the liberals are just as bad" is really going to change the fact that this entire pogrom is run by Republicans?

If you want to call me a hater, fine - go right ahead. Given your comments and perspectives on human rights in the past, however, I strongly suspect you should look up the exact definition of "False witness, bearing".

Philippe,

I've got a whole passle of red-nex cousins, nieces and nephews out here in the Rocky Mountain West. They really believe Obama is a Muslim, that he wasn't born in the US and strongly suspect Hawaii snuck into the Union when nobody was looking, anyway.

My mom gave me a Dan Wessen Arms competition barrel .357 for my 18th birthday and a Chevy truck for my 51st. She knows me so well.

When did these numnuts get the idea that standing still and letting the christianist ram their ideology up our asses was American patriotism.

As long as we're on the subject

Of the rest of the world:

Austria authorized civil unions on December 10, to begin January 1, 2010.

This is pretty significant when you consider that the Austrian government at the turn of this century was run by Jorg Haider and thugs.

Why, yes, he did,

Louis.
Kinda cute, too, if you go for the blonder Strickjunger look.

Hitler jr. left him the bulk of his fortune and the leadership of the Austrian Nazi party.

His wifey-poo was not amused.

It's a universal: The more conservative, patriotic and devoutly Christian the politician is in public, the bigger a swine he is in private.

A friend of mine here in Munich used to date our own local Gauleiter. She of the "let's tattoo the gays and put the on an island in the Nordsee" suggestion back when the Aids panic first hit.

Miss Thang was and is such a devout conservative, always down on her knees worshiping at the alter of spit don't swallow.

I am a firm supporter of outing bi- and gay politicians when they agitate against our rights. I wasn't pretty enough, but a Freund von mir was a member of a group in the late 80's who worked hard to be 'seduced' by the closeted CSU and CDU bitches and be caught 'in flagrante' with them. They brought a few down. We need to stop the Mr. Nice-Gay approach and go back to making life a living hell for the christianists.

let's tattoo the gays and put them on an island

No need; they do it voluntarily.

So Mrs. X and Mrs. Y are vising Manhattan from back woods of Ohio.

One after the other the men are slim, trim, handsome, muscular well-mannered, well-educated, well-dressed, hip, kind, creative helpful, jolly and a pleasure to behold.

After a while, one says/asks of the other:

Q: Can you believe how many queer men there are in here? It's disgraceful. The homosexuals should all be rounded up and put on an island somewhere.

A: Darling, you are in Manhattan and it's already been done. Besides how would we ever get our shopping done?

Toggles,

That's a big part of it, I think.

A lot of the better-o-sexuals have this dim realization that we've got something they don't have. And they resent it. Let's face it, if I asked anyone on this site what the color of 2010 will be, the answer would be a snappy: Turquoise.
They might not be crazy about it, but they'd know it and if they didn't already know it, they'd feel it.

And then there are the ones -gay and "straight" who scream the loudest about propriety (oh! my ! gawd! I just got that double entendre from last month! Oh my gawd! He didn't mean CoolWhip when he wrote that about beating the cream! Oh my gawd! My virgin eyes! Think of the children! Oh, my gawd! It gave me a stiffie! Oh my GAWD!!!) who really, really are screaming bottoms and feel guilty as hell about it.

Remember Ted Haggard and his poor wife? I will never forget the look on her face. Those pigs are the ones who cause us the most harm. A straight man, comfortable in his sexuality, with a genuine liking for women isn't bothered by gays. Hell, he's probably given it a try, just to see if it's worth adding on and decided it's not him, but no hu-hu.

Remind me again, please, why Far-Right Christians and Rethug

Um, I didn't get this memo! Not that it would have mattered.

I may not agree with keeping the gates of the country open, and fully expect people who do things illegally (as in 'illegal alien') to be punished appropriately, and I may also have some feeling that a baby is a baby and not an abortable mass at some point in development, but I have a hard time with how the Rep's overall agenda toward me and mine points.

Selfish? Yep!

IMHO,
Chuck (NOT RICH!!!! We share the same screen name, but I always sign my name to my own posts.)

Bashing...sigh.

Well, folks, Panthera gets angry about hypocrisy regarding folks who use the mantle of conservatism and religion to do horrible things.

Other people say that he's too voer the top and shouldn't have knee jerk hate.

If you READ his posts, he does NOT attack "Christianity" but "Christianists" and "Republithugs" or whatever he called them.

TRULY religious people would NOT condone hatred or murder. Hypocrites would.

Now, since I'm an equal opportunity skewerer here, I find the left to be filled with hatred and intolerance as well -- they'll send folks off to camps just as quick , and they wont' be folks that far different from what the other side would do. So many folks wanting 'green' are really simply using it as a hip status marketing toy. Folks who GENUINELY conserve resources have my respect as I try to do it but most of them avoid the 'green' label.

What it really comes down to here, is that mutual respect for each other, and decent treatment of each other, are what is important, and all too lost in the larger society we live in.

i couldn't agree more!

i see extreme intolerance and narrow mindedness among many liberals that equals or exceeds any of the conservative right.

and i must admit i find it especially true among some gay liberals. and i am a gay man with gay friends from various political viewpoints. and straight friends also.

it never fails to amaze me that if you disagree with some liberals on any subject that gets their dander up they unleash a tirade of accusations against you, including "mean spirited" "hateful" and ofcourse "homophobic". i have the right to disagree with anyone whether it be on abortion, gay marriage, global warming, or whether i like coke or pepsi best. just cause i might not agree with someone does not make me a hateful person or homophobic, nor does it mean i am anti gay or ashamed of my being gay. i am very open about it to everyone and enjoy being a faggot ( i love that word!) and alas, i am not the only gay man out there who is not politically liberal by nature. just like these washers and dishwashers i keep finding there are a lot more of us out and about!

i can respect someone elses viewpoint on a topic or political leaning without agreeing with that person, or hating or even disliking them. but i deserve and expect the same tolerance from them concerning my viewpoints, whether they be conservative, or based on religious convictions, without all the labels thrown at me that i am so sick of hearing. it really gets to be like a broken record. it's a bit humorous actually.

we have a saying in AA. "live and let live but we also have another one "don't be a doormat" and "to thy own self be true".

a lot of liberals need to practice what they preach about tolerance!

Peter,

I freely admit that I easily lose my patience with conservative Christians and Republicans who are intolerant of gays and transgender.

Right now, Uganda is still planning to kill us!

And, like it or not, their government and this legislation was put into place and directly sponsored by Republicans and conservative Christians.

Yes, we are in the middle of a culture war. Yes, there are conservative gays (I can't fathom how a gay man can support politicians who work to have him strung up and hung by his neck until he strangles to death, accept, however that there are such gay men). Yes, there are also gay men who have no problem with being conservative Christians and see any objection to a version of Christianity which advocates murdering us as an attack on their Catholic church or own, personal Jesus.

I can't change that. I do promise, however, that the very second liberals and non-conservative Christians start trying to murder people for being who they are, I will be just as loudly intolerant and obnoxious about it.

By the by, I got a lot of shit around here when I said I believed gun control means using both hands. That intolerance is, indeed, a liberal problem. You are absolutely right. I also got shat upon for being monogamous and publicly stating that I feel gay marriage and monogamy is a good thing. Totally uncalled for nastiness towards me for that.

Yes, I need to lower my voice more often. Maybe, just maybe, the other side of the culture wars here need to reconsider their blanket assumption that anything liberals here (and we are beginning to grow in postings, the Bush era is over!) say is wrong.
