first up, i dont lie about what my washing machine does - why would i do that! seems silly to make up stories!

the washer defo spins when it dries, i agree with the theory that it is supposed to extract more water, but i guess it was just a freak incident where the towels just didn't upstick from the drum.

gonna try and take some vids of the spin rinse for peeps, it does it the same was the series 90 used to, on the final rinse just before it begins to empty out, it rotates at distribution speed what ever that may be! its not as quick as the series 90 but it still looks cool!

Aha i'm intruegued my cousin has recently purchased a WT961A? i'm not brill with model numbers. TOL alluminum 1600 7kg. He said it's brill aside from it havin a slight fault.

Bascially i am intregued to no; Does it do the powerstream in the main wash cycle like my old WMA60P used to do as they don't advertise the feature & secondly how happy are you with the rinsing and what sorta level is the water in the rinses!

And lastly one thing i've had clarrified by my cousin and my mother when she was there is they are deadly quiet?! Can you confirm?!

Would love to see some pics and videos if you have the time!

My nana's WF340 also distributes during the drains, old Hotpoint style! Goes straight to distribute as soon as the drain starts too... just a shame it spoils it by messing about with anti tangle tumbles afterwards!

It seems there are many differences between model numbers in Hotpoint Current line up.

and yes the WF000 did Powerstream in all Cotton washes, Rinse Levelwas half way up the door too.

Although it was a noisy machine (which you know i like) it was not a nice noise....... i got bored of it pretty soon.

I was happy with my hotpoint WF220 as seen in my thread and vid on youtube until my power modules failed on tuesday. Worse thing is when I saw the new part it is from Idesit. Oh dear!!!! My friends Indesit W123 Broke to pieces, even before it started it's first ever wash. The dial came off drum made a horrible whine and it was then taken to the skip. He now owns a spanking new Hoover Vision 1600 with 8KG wash capacity.

yeah its a wd860, the rinse level goes in two phases as with my old hotpoint, starts with a low rinse level and a slow tumble, then fills up with more water (just up to the bend in the glass door) and increases the tumble speed.

clarify whats a powerstream? excuse my ignorance!

i love the rinsing on these machines, thats why i bought bought it, i need a machine with a high rinse level i'm sensitive to washing power and i also do some very grubby loads cause my dogs towels get pretty gross.

Is something that hotpoint brought in way back in 2000 which i found to be very similar to the hoover spin wash except for the spin part lol.

Basically durin about 4 stages of the wash the drum kicks up the speed into distribution speed pulling the water and detergent through the clothes. and where as my hoover would advance to spinning 400rpm these just kept tumbling and tumbling and then dropped back to normal tumble speed.

I did like the idea it was nice to watch.

I had a Hotpoint WD860 until a few weeks ago. It was returned and refunded under guarantee and was only a few weeks old. :-( The power/control module – PCB basically! – failed.

I will say it was one of the most impressive machines to watch. If only Indesit Company could sort their reliability problems out, these new machines are wonderful to use and watch. I have never, ever heard such a quiet machine!

To anyone who has not heard one – and I mean this in all seriousness, you will probably never hear such a quiet machine during wash and rinse cycles. It is *that* quiet – there is *no* motor noise. If there is any noise you can pick up with your ear literally to it, there is a wonderful little faint noise that can be heard that is just something I’ve never heard from other machines before – even the washing makes no real noise! It’s incredible! Even the spinning is incredibly quiet at right up to 1600rpm, although some have experienced problems at such a high speed with noise.

Yes, Jon – it was/is quieter than my Miele!

I liked the machine, but I could not trust Indesit after the problems with our other appliances.

Could you tell me if you machine fills up during the rinse, turns a few times and then drains? Ours did – each rinse cycle lasted about a minute, which was obviously indicative of a fault!

It’s a lovely machine, really – enjoy it!

Sounds very similar to the Ariston branded machines sold in Currys currently, they start off the wash cycle with slow tumbles, and about 5 mins in they kick up to high speed aggressive tumbling, almost instantly reversing, rises start off low level with slow tumbling and after 2-3 mins or so tumbling speeds up again and continues tumbling whilst filling, the rinse levels are really high for a modern machine and in final rinse on cottons, does what I call "turbo tumbles" where the drum does random burst at high speed full of rinse water, it does this 4 -5 times then kicks into distribute then starts draining. Once drained does a burst, slows down does a few tumbles, another burst, slows down tumbles a bit more, then does a 2minute or so spin, slows down does a few more tumbles ramps up again to 1600 for about 3 mins, slows down does a few tumbles and then ramps up again to 1600 for a further 2 minutes or so. These machines are as stated deadly silent, work incredibly well and are of a decent standard for something made from 'Indesit Company’

I haven't really paid much attention to my nana's WF340, but hers doesn't do the spin rinses - does wash enhance by any chance make the washer do these weird but wonderful things? I'm really intrigued. From what I've seen of hers, hers does slow and short tumbles until it's heated, then tumbles quite agressively for 5 or 10 minutes at the end of teh wash, then an 800rpm spin, then a short(ish) rinse which is low level, then anotehr 800rpm spin, then the last rinse which is quite long and has that 2 phase filling. The final spin drives me crazy though... takes about 20 minutes to do the whole spin cycle! But still, it does spin stuff pretty dry I must admit. And the boost up to 1400rpm is great... seems to accelerate to about 1800rpm then slows back to 1400. I like the distrbution drains too - but all the anti tangle tumbling in between the spins seems to ruin the point of the distribution drains IMO.

I know I shouldn't, but I actually really wanna try a Hotpoint now. It feels so wrong saying that, and I know that they're hardly decent machines... but they sound so fun! I want one... in satin aluminium :-D. Does anyone know if the Aquarius models (3 dial ones I like) do this, or are the spin-rinses limited to the Ultimas?

Ugh... what am I even talking about... the Miele is looking across teh room at me in disgust!!!

The WF000 was useless. Wash enhance is just a longer wash and does jack all to the tumble effect and does not make much of a difference to the wash performance.
And to be honest, Yes they are A rated for wash but my whites were really worse than using my current Hottie. They dipped for a short while until we moved into the new house and lost that piece of junk and I got my Zanussi.

They really are not worth the money from what I experienced with mine, get that Hoover Logic if its distributions with water you want.

Im not slating them because of who they are made by, its just true honest comments I have experienced in person.

Not alot of thought has gone into these machines. What use is a 60*c 60 minute Cottons Quickwash when you have a pair of jeans you need like asap.

The 30*c Delicates 30 minute quickwash did 2 rinses and a measly slow spin at the end meaning you had to re do the full 20 minute fast sin after......... make your own judgement.

And the pumps get clogged easily and ours let sink water siphon back in everytime you poured water down the sink.
It was plumbed in correctly, I checked daily.

When I had the sump apart there was a flimsy rubber cover over the pump outlet that was so flimsy the force of the water bent it and it got wedged into the drain hose meaning water could get in and fill the machine. several times I put this fault right and gave up. I had to drain the machine EVERY time I used it before I put the clothes in.

We went away for a week and the mother in law popped in to the house while she was in town so she could have a brew (with our permission beforehand) and washed her mug. The water that went down the sink sat in the machine for the next 5 days and you can imagine what we came home to.

The blockage was half a cotton bud stick that had gotten somehow and was wedged in the pump causing an awful noise.

Never again will I put my money to new Hotpoint.

Listen to this machine roar when it ramps up in speed, this a Merloni made Hotpoint machine that does rather sound like Concorde taking off! LOL, And i thought my Hoover was bad!! LOL

Wow what an entertaining machine. I've been toyin with the idea of ownin one of these. i never look longterm i change my machines so often to worry about reliability.....hmmm Its that spin rinsing thats got me! entertainment factor!!!!!
