Woodtone Brown....
Was around for a while, and I remember seeing it occasionally, but as soon as Coppertone was introduced, Woodtone Brown looked like it was produced during a strike or something. It really had zero "presence" next to the much richer, nicely shaded Coppertone.

Oh, but used with the proper 50s colors, woodtone brown loked really rich. The color reminded me of when my mom sifted powder sugar and cocoa together to make chocolate frosting. The yellow butter turned it into a rich brown chocolate.

According to some of the GE service manuals I have, Coppertone and Woodtone were available simultaneously for a couple of years, 1961-1963.
I saw a Wood-tone Brown General Electric stove at a Salvation Army store which had all push-buttons for the one 8" & three 8" burners & an oven w/ no window or even a light; metal stampings for where one & its switch for the latter would go...
A very basic range, lacking even a clock & timer, but surely one this color seemed suitable for, along w/ if you had a matching metal desk, typewriter & filing cabinet!
A Used Appliance store had a GE fridge in that color, that I also saw around the same time... Most likely a 15 cu. ft. model, equally basic...

WTB was light enough that it did not show streaks like Coppertone did. I remember people writing into household hints columns asking for help with streaks on coppertone. A wipe down with a vinegar-water solution after thorough cleaning helped. I think the people with the streaking problems were wiping down the coppertone finish with the dishcloth and not rinsing it thoroughly instead of using a cleaner like Windex and paper towels. The streaks were a sign of incomplete cleaning and we've never seen that on old appliances, have we?
