GE Electric Sink

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I don't want to be rude, but how are these awesome? Friends had one that they bought new.  You had to carefully prepare the dishes before loading; no food particles could go in because the timer ran off the motor so unlike some other gravity drain dishwashers or dishwashers with a separate electrically powered drain pump where the wash action stopped during drain allowing at least a chance for heavier than water soil to sink to the bottom of the tub during drain, the GE kept the impeller going throwing the soiled wash water around during that drain and throwing water during the drains from the two rinses because it had to power the timer via the motor so there was not a good chance to get food particles out of the machine if you got them in.

The Bakelite impeller suffered wear to the leading edges over time so that even after a few years of use it did not provide the washing action it did when new.

Awesome because they are unique

I’m aware these aren’t good performing machines but they are so unique and just a cool piece to own. Performance is important if it’s going to be a daily user for me but if it’s just part of a collection I’m not as concerned with how well it washes, still cool to play around with once in a while.
