I found this on Craigslist and was interested in the set. the seller wants 295 for the pair but has no information to offer about them. can anyone tell me their age/dependability or if this is a good price before I make this purchase.

Without looking at my brochures saved on my computer, I cant tell you WHICH model they are, but they look from the x10 series which is about 1979/80-ish to around 1985.

The washer I think is a Fabric-matic single speed, not sure capacity, and the dryer looks more TOL to me.

These should be very dependable machines, and if youre willing to put some work in, they will be VERY dependable machines. If you rebuild them completely, they will last another forty years.

I agree with Pete! The dryer is very A510.

The washer? I wonder if its a early series x11 or A282-like machine? A builder model?

I have a Maytag model A282 that looks exactly like this one. I got mine at a restore and have only replaced the belts and the water inlet valve. Mine says "Large Capacity" which i think is about 12 - 14 lbs capacity. Runs great even with a full load of towels or jeans. No squeaks, groans, or moans, just clean Laundry. Built like a tank and runs like one to.
