Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

A friend of ours owns one.

My take:  Too complicated (he couldn't even figure out how to mount the carafe on the base at first),  too bulky, I don't care for plastic/acrylic carafes, and it strikes me as a cheap knock-off of a Blendtec or Vitamix type of machine.  To me, it smacks of "As seen on TV" merchandise.  Like, would you put a "Ninja" bike in the same class as a Harley?

Just this past weekend I saw some of these in their original boxes at a nearby Goodwill store.  It appeared that Ninja had slapped labels on the boxes advising that the machines were not to be sold.  I suspect they were either returned due to defects or were used as demo models, and Ninja was not going to provide any warranty coverage on them.

I'm quite happy with my kick-ass '60s Osterizer with ice-crusher blade.  With the "Fusion" blade assembly installed, any multi-speed Osterizer can be elevated to Blendtec or Vitamix capabilities with just a few exceptions.

Tom, there are some old direct drive Waring carafes that have a type of ice crusher blade.  I have a couple of them on my two old Warings.  If you can find one of those, you might still be able to use your beehive/waterfall Waring, as there is more cutting edge area on this type of blade.   I can attest to its ability to pulverize ice crescents without any need to crack or crush them first.  I imagine it would do equally well with chunks of smoothie ingredients.  You just can't let the mixture become so frozen that it starts to cross the line from liquid to solid.

Here's a picture of the type of blade I'm referring to:
