Anybody have a Maytag door seal for a de702?

Volvoguy87 and I were chatting and I figured I'd ask., I have a de702 and he has a de700 and both need door boots. As luck would have it, I found one today! However, that doesn't help Dave. Being the amazing friend I am, I thought I'd ask you all. Does anyone have an extra door seal 302448, 3-2448, 3-11436, or 3-2400 that they would consider selling?

This is one of those parts that gets a lot of requests but is in very short supply. I have a spare NOS seal that's going on my DG701 at some point, so I can't spare it.(no pun intended) Considering how critical it is to the proper operation of these old HOH machines this is one part that really needs to be reproduced. I know some folks think this would be prohibitively expensive, but considering that the part was extruded, and extrusion dies are the least expensive to make, it's well worth looking into. It could end up being more affordable than some are thinking.

I'm in the same boat; I just have the one spare. It's part #312231 and says it's a replacement for 3-2448. The instruction sheet states this specific seal will fit 641C, 741C, 642C, 742C, 700, 701, 702, 750, and D20 models. It also appears to replace 3-12238 which fits the 606, 806, and 906.

The instructions also indicate that if it's being used for a dryer without a window door to trim off a 1/2 inch.

Could you possibly post a photo of the seal you have that would show its profile, and also list its dimensions? I've never seen one of these and I'm curious about how it differs from the 302448 seal.

My apologies on the poor quality; the bag is still sealed and it kept picking up the flash.  I included a shot of the instruction page; it apparently fits a LOT of models.

Point of clarification: One part# for all of those models?

Out of curiosity, does the instruction sheet with the door gasket actually say that one newer part number supersedes all of those part number/model combinations or is it just that the installation instructions apply to all of the models listed - but the original part numbers still apply? I doubt that one gasket design could replace all of those variations. If it does, that would make the prospect of reproducing a gasket easier as the demand might make it more cost effective.

My guess is that Maytag supplied one instruction sheet covering all of those dryer models - packaged with each gasket regardless of design/part number - and most if not all of the original gasket part numbers were still needed to cover the variations in gasket design.

I think Andrew is likely correct about the instruction sheet that came with the gasket you picked up, but I'm still interested in more information on it. I did the little drawing below of the 302448 gasket profile some time back. It was a well used gasket, so the measurements are probably close but not exact, especially the 1 11/32" width. It spent many years with a door closed against it which flattened out the outer lip. With this in mind, how does the width of your gasket compare?
