Anyone Ever Use Vintage Laundry Products?

My vintage bars of Fels, list Naphalane (sp) which IIRC is the same as lighter fluid. Bars sold today clearly state Fels does not contain the substance.

Strangely the old Fels does not make me whezz as much as the newer version. Still kicks grease and oil out of fabric though.

Hi Laundress!

I'm not sure if cross-pollenating (sp?) threads is socially acceptable, but I'm sure someone will discipline me (Venus do I hear a switch racing through the air?) should I need it.

I wonder what would burn more... Fels in the pie-hole or Climalene for personal hygiene?

cold power

We used Cold Power for a while. I remember the smell...think it was quite strong, but pleasant.
That brings me to another question: How can P&G have the nerve to market ColdWater Tide as the "first detergent specifically designed to work in cold water"? Doesn't anyone there remember Cold Power or ColdWater All???????

Not just detergents....

Slightly on topic, but does anyone else pick up the old aerosols at the yard sales? I found a couple gems a few weeks ago, one is a can of Dog-Away with a paper label and photo of the reaction of of a very surprised dog! And the other is bug spray, Now with 5% DDT! in bold letters across the front.

Also in the late 1960's Surf was marketed as Cold Water Surf - designed for cold or hot water washing......
