Being from the UK the times that posts are started or replied to do not reflect the actual time it is in the UK now.

This can be confusing when trying to distinguish if a post has been replied to as the time will not be correct.

Thanks.

Not only us in EU ...

AW.org forum server is in the US, but the actual time in NYC is later than in LA .....

I have a clock widget with Minneapolis time installed on my computer just to avoid this problem.

It really does amaze me how we all intersect, overlap and affect each other's lives.

Wild to think that an event in say, California USA can trigger an event say, in the UK or Australia.

Have no fear. I have to subtract an hour to get to "cornbelt" time.

In the real world E-mail programs often give you SENDER'S LOCAL TIME as time of issuance. When I worked for a Japanese company was getting resposes to TODAY'S emails... from the future.. LOL.... with tomorrow's date and time. Sorting in date and tome order was a *itch.

We shoulds add reference time Greewich (ENGLAND)UK time. [Not Greenwich Connecticut]. Where did that whole thng fromanyway, and why? Brits?

Would be good if the forum could have different time zones for different people like many forums do.

Show me an example or two of one of those forums please? I'm always open to ideas.

oh and yes, the time display is set to Minneapolis time the real time of course :-).

I do display it in 24-hour format like they use in Europe which I prefer to the American AM and PM which is ridiculous in my mind.

oh. I was refering To Greenwich Mean Time. But will do, thanks! Is my answer in what you steered me to? Will have to see.........

AND THANK YOU CANADA for adapting your days of switching to / from daylight savings time to ours.

And when the Bush-meister blamed Canada for our major east-coast blackout of 08/14/20XX I WANTED TO DIE. I think I shouted out loud at the television (days later) "YOU STUPID **CK, (sounds sorta like 'schmuck') and almost got into trouble!

We appologize for our arrogance!

I'd ride a broom first

Both these forums run on vbulletin something to consider should you upgrade in the future.

Nope, we pride ourselves at aw.org and vacuumland at having a unique custom written discussion forum software. You wont find it anywhere else. If there are new features I decide to implement I will write them into the code.

Those generic forums are so how do I say it, well generic. :-)

I could never understand the 24 hr clock,, then when I started working for the railroad 30+ yrs ago it took me quite awhile to adjust. Always finger counting etc. Don't think anything of it now. It really is less confusing once you've adjusted. Quebec is the only province where it's used as the norm for everyone though.

'Cornbelt? Just because we have corn fields behind major

Oy, what's wrong with corn?! I love corn, corn is good, wholesome, delicious and nutritious.

I don't care much for the 24 hour clock. Give me the 12 hour format anytime. At work we are all supposed to use the 24 hour format when we write out entries. Whilst it isn't hard to do, everybody still adheres to the a.m. p.m. system. I guess old habits die hard.

Custom Deluxe or Imperial Deluxe code. I think it has a bett

LOL @ petek! One of the things I love so much about AW is the graphic elegance of the site. Going from this to a generic vbulletin is like going from a TOL washer with a whole panel of lighted controls to a BOL washer with one lonely dial . . . they just seem so, so plain!
