Okay, I know that this has been done before, but I just had to post this.

I don't know how many of you watch or like horror movies, but I love the Friday the 13th series and I decided to watch one today. I chose number 7 and lo and behold, what do I see in the character Tina's cabin? An old Coldspot refrigerator and an O'keefe and Merritt 600.

I wonder what other semi-modern horror movies have vintage appliances?

Seeing as that it is almost Halloween, I think that would be fun to do.

Well I just watched The Ring Two yesterday, and there was a very nice O'Keefe & Merritt gas range that went "berserk" (burners flaring up) and you could see a 1980 helical-drive Maytag washer (right-timer design, with ivory pushbuttons) in the background.

The original 1979 version of The Amityville Horror (w/James Brolin) doesn't have ANYTHING in it...not even a kitchen range. Did have a cool Sanyo rolling-number alarm clock though. This seemed to have been a "budget" movie, but OY!

Carrie's mother had a Philco single-door refrigerator from the late '40s/'50s and an apartment-size gas range. I wonder if she had a washer or if she went to the "sinful" laundromat.

The apartment in "Rosemary's Baby" came equipped with a gold Frigidaire fridge and matching 36" Wedgewood gas range with side storage. The basement had white Frigidaire coin-ops.

The family in "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" (original only, please) had a Chambers gas range.

I just saw a movie called "Kiss Daddy Goodbye" which is totally awful and boring but features a 40" Flair and a coppertone fridge.

A near-victim in "The Incredible Melting Man" hides in the kitchen and blocks the door with a '50s Kelvinator fridge.

It's been a while, but I think I remember an O'K&M in "Poltergeist 2."

"Close Encounters of the Third Kind" has the scene in Melinda Dillon's house when the kitchen appliances went wonky, a big old electric range, top-load dishwasher, and maybe a refrigerator. Haven't seen it in a while. I vaguely recall the dishwasher had a roto-rack.

There's a horror movie called "The Mangler" that involves (I think) a killer commerical front-loader. I haven't seen it.

the killer "Laundry machine" in the "Mangler" was a very large clothes presser and "folder"the characters in the movie(the unit was in a large laundry company) used it to press sheets.the thing actually looks like a sheet metal rolling press in a foundry to me instead of an ironer.I am waiting to see the Horror movie "Blades" that involves a killer "runaway" riding lawn mower.
