Hotpoint Aqualtis

Hi Luke.

I have an older Hotpoint Aqualtis, model number AQXXF 149PM. It takes a 7.5kg wash load. It say it is super silent, and it really does live up to its name. You can not hear the machine on wash, even on 1400 spin its so quiet and stable.

The large porthole makes it so good for loading and unloading, and the soap dispenser is also hidden.

The only downside to this machine is the cotton cycle does take a long time to do a load of washing. You also have a number of options, you can choose the temperature of the water, the spin.

I use to use it on the synthetic cycle, you can have a 60c wash, or 40c wash and does not take as long.

Its good at a unbalanced load, and does not take 6 hours to balance out the load, lol.

The reason why I am not using it at the moment, I drove into the door and broke it. Hotpoint said it would cost about £200 to repair, so bought a cheap machine and gonna decide what to do about the poor little old baby, lol.

If the machine would cost over £500, then I would buy a Miele, my mum has all Miele appliances, and she loves them.

Speaking of increased capacity

Does anyone know if they have actually increased the drum size, or are they going like Hoover with the visions and expecting people to cram 9kg into like a 6kg drum?

Haven't had any first hand experience of these, but I've only heard good about them.

Matt

i know most of the people on here worship miele, but i wouldn't buy one i dont like them much, and the cheapest miele over here is 849 euro. so its out of the question, but i do want the aqualtis...and i want to get the Aqualtis dryer aswel.

Drum Size

Hi guys.

I went into currys the other day, and the drum size looks the same.

I think this machine could be a winner for Hotpoint, trust me to break the door, lol.

Hotpoint Aqualtis

Hi Luke.

I must admit, I do miss my Hotpoint Aqualtis. Its a great machines to use. As for the long cotton cycle, then you can choose another programme. As I said before, I use to use the synthetic programme a lot, either 60 or 40. I have a seperate spin dryer, so I would use that a lot, so I did not have to put the machine on another spin.

The machine is great for loading and unloading. I once posted some photos on here.

Regards

my mate has got a 1600 spin aqualtis, and she loves the huge load space and the super silent spin!
I'd love one but i'm gonna have to wait til our current one is unfixable!

Hotpoint Aqualtis

Hi guys.

Got some good news on my Hotpoint Aqualtis. A friend of mine knows a older guy who is an engineer. He said he comes out and will give me a free quote. So I might be having my little baby repaired.

I relly do like the machine, so easy to use.

Also, I once read in a Which Magazine that fast spin machine are more unreliable than slower spin machines. This was said when fast spin machine were being introduced on the market. My Hotpoint Aqualtis is 1400rpm, but I was given a Zanussi spin dryer which spin at 2800rpm, so I use to my Aqualtis on about 600rpm, and then spin them in my zanussi.

Regards
Paul
