Seriously, how is this even a thread?!
They're not edible, they're a severe irritant and they're rather toxic.

Keep them out of reach of children, dogs and anyone adult who fails to recognise they're not edible!!

Haven`t we done stupid things at young age ?
Like starting a serious nicotine addiction just to be part of the cool kids ?

Eating Tide pods as a dare is a bit extreme but I think most of them are clever enough not to get them in their eyes and not to swallow.
Others would climb onto trains and get fried.
Guess most parents would rather want their kids "eat" detergent instead if they could choose.

Update, Youtube is taking down the vids:

Seriously, society is finished. When I was in school I could not think of one person who would think such a thing was cool or socially acceptable. I mean I knew kids who did really, and I mean really dumb stuff, but even they knew this could get you poisoned.

Second- where are the parents? I am all for letting kids be independent, but this should certainly involve some strong consequences. If I had kids and I caught them doing just thinking about this, lets just say CPS would be knocking.

And sadly the kids who already have common sense have to be lectured like a toddler on the obvious.

BTW, that commercial is show cringey I doubt its going to do anything.

Tide pods are a gimmick.

In the summer of 2014, my mom wanted to try a different laundry detergent, and she bought tide pods. They didn't even work, and that was when the 2006 Kenmore front load washer and dryer was in the laundry room.

I don't mind powder or liquid detergent, but I don't really car for tide pods.

Go ahead and LET the dumbards eat the pods--will only narrow the gene pools!!!There was a story on Fox news about this. They show shots of folks biting the pods and the liquids in them drooling out of their mouths. As ridiculous as the dumbards eating tobacco worms!Yes,they eat those, too! If the worm ate tobacco--would be as dangerous as the pod if not even more.
