Just Been on the ASDA website doing some internet shopping and found out that Ariels Packaging has changed yet again, to

Ariel Actilift

Cleans & helps prevent stains setting in*. *Especially on particulate stains on cotton. Brilliant cleaning on whites & colours even in cool wash.

this is going to be on the new packs of Tablets, and Powder and i think excel gel as well.

heres a picture of the pack

is this another improved formula or is it a marketing gimmick?

ooo Just found this

Category innovating laundry brand, Ariel, is set to shake up the fabricare market with a complete brand restage that will see the introduction of revolutionary new technology across its portfolio.

Ariel with Actilift will demonstrate a breakthrough in stain removal technology that will not only remove stains, but also help prevent them from setting in - even when used in a cool wash.

Available from 11th January, the Actilift formula builds on Ariel's heritage of superior cleaning by using a new technology that works to help detach stains and dirt molecules from fabric, smoothing the fibres in the process.

With a phenomenal marketing investment that includes in-store support, TV and print advertising, PR, online and sampling, the latest Ariel revolution is set to follow quickly in the footsteps of the incredibly successful Ariel Excel Gel with this portfolio-wide upgrade.

Paul Lettice, Trade Communications Manager at P&G, says:
"When it comes to category innovation, Ariel really does set itself apart from other brands.

"Consumers continue to demand a cleaner wash and the ability to use less energy while doing so. This is where Ariel with Actilift will really deliver.

"Not only does it remove dried in stains and help prevent them from setting in, this superior technology, like the Ariel Excel Gel advancement that came before it, will provide fantastic results in a cool wash."

Be interesting to see if they have changed the scent.

Glad im due a new box of Ariel this week so will be able to see what its all about.
Wont hold my breath though about its abilities to wash whites successfully at lower temps than 95 degrees.

i hope the scent does change to something nicer as maybe then i will buy it and i wonder if they have conquered the amount of suds it produces, as i find even 43ml creates alot of suds.

Whilst the general smell has remained the same, the current batch is nowhere near as strong as it used to be. Recently Ariel hasn't been too bad either for sudsing - using the Exceltabs at the moment and they hardly foam at all, unlike how they were a few years ago. Will be interesting to see if it has changed though.

Probably won't buy some anytime soon as we're pretty much stocked up on detergent atm, but knowing me I'll probably end up buying some anyway lol. To be fair I don't expect it to be any better than the current batch of Ariel - principally because you can't improve on excellence itself.

In terms of whiteness, well Ariel has always given me great whites at 40 degrees with whatever is thrown at it (rarely does the temperature rise above that nowadays for general laundry), which we wash the majority of our white washes on... make of that what you will =). But of course I'm in no hurry to start washing on cold!

Paul I didnt see it either after a quick trip into Asda this afternoon for milk and bread.

Dare say it wont take long to appear.

Kyle I daresay you didnt see this topic in the forum before you created it, I didnt either until it was pointed out. Its an easy mistake.

It probably won't appear until most of the old stock has been sold. Give it a week or so.

I noticed the other day that Bold has been given a bit of a re-vamp too, although it looks like it's just a slightly different logo and new packaging - no product change. There were a few new packs on shelves along with the remaining old style ones. Most places seem to have Ariel on special offer at the moment so no doubt the older packs will be shifted fairly quickly.

P&G must be on a bit of a mission, Fairy liquid has a slightly new look and so does Flash which now has Febreze in it - LOL!

spoodles

Flash with Febreeze. Yes I succombed to the bottle but nothing ever comes close IMO to the Pine variety.

Nothing like the smell of that lingering, its just so clean!

The cotton fresh flash just smells like generic blue fabric softener/airfreshener.

Will give it a go though.

I agree about flash pine

The Pine fresh Flash smells amazing,

I really loved Ariel Alpine, but they only make it in france

What a strange mix, flash with febreeze lol

And I didn't see the thread so yes it was a mistake..soo saying that I'm rude for making this thread is a bit silly tbh

LOL

Didn't see any in Asda when I popped in there tonight, though the shelves were almost empty so who knows they may be restocked with the new formula soon :-). Not noticed the new Bold yet either, but did buy some of that Flash with Febreze too, not used it yet but Flash spray is 3 for £2 in Asda so was rude not to!

BTW didn't mean to cause any animosity by linking to the other thread, just that I posted an article and that in there that which would be of interest, sorry if I've offended...

My local Tesco only had the lavender variety of Flash with Febreze, needless to say it stayed there - yuck! I like the smell of the Febreze Cotton Fresh air freshener - it smells very similar to Downy April Fresh to me, so not surprised to see you say this smells like fabric conditioner! I'll give it a whirl when I see it too.

The other thing about Bold was that the liquitabs all seem to have reverted to 20 per pack rather than 22 or 24, but the price seemed to have stayed the same. Funny that, because when they increased the pack sizes last time round, the prices shot up too. No doubt Ariel tabs will be the same.

Also, has anyone noticed that Ariel Excel Gel is now £8.18 for a 28 wash bottle (in Tesco at least) and yet it's £4.34 for an 18 wash bottle, so the large packs are much worse value for money than the small ones - how does that make sense?!

I do wonder about the seemingly higher cost of larger packs of detergents per millilitre/kilogram but then in a world where Governments are determined to get us to reduce our energy consumption it makes perfect sense not to encourage us to buy larger packs that work out cheaper and hence make us feel better about doing more washes.

It figures to me if its cheaper to buy a smaller pack you will do less washes to help your stash last longer. Its a pshychological thing.

Sad thing about this is it really is down do a Government who do nothing to improve conditions of living which would inturn save electricity where it really counts.

Ever thought of going into politics Rob? After all, you could start claiming for Ariel on expenses then =D.

Thing is, supermarkets will often sell 50 wash packs of premium brands for a fiver, or often even the 28 wash variants for £4... so obviously they still make a profit there, so just goes to show how much profit is also being made out of the high cost of large packs when they're not on sale.

I remember even 4/5 years ago, you used to be able to get 45 washes of Ariel, Persil etc for change out of a fiver... now for 42 washes at some places it's over a tenner. Tis the main reason why we use our cash and carry for large boxes of powder - we're fortunate that we're able to do that and get a 120 wash box for £15-16, but for the average consumer it's just awful to be ripped off like that.

BTW the Flash with Febreze - I bought the spray, smells no different to the previous blue formula so obviously just new packaging, let's hope the new Ariel is different purely for interest's sake.

£8.18 for 28 washes??

Tesco cheap??? lmao!!!

Its £4.00 in Sainsburys at the mo and I had a £1.50 coupon off any Ariel product so mine cost me £2.50 lol :)
