Fresh Start Warning

Fresh Start behaves erratically in different conditions in a Front Load washer. The same amount will suds wildly in hotter water, but behave in cooler water. Sometimes things like towels will cause FS to over suds. Granted I am talking about the formula we can buy here in the States. It soon became clear that it might have been a controlled sudsing detergent at one time, but it could not be counted on for low sudsing in front loaders after the early 90s, here. It was not a high sudser in top loaders, even in a GE FilterFLo. Hope you have better luck. It also had enzymes that were very effective on protein stains, but it was not worth anything on oily soils.

As is often said here, it just comes down to what a lot of us were brought up to believe. I personally like a warm wash and rinse for colored clothes and a cold prewash then hot wash for whites.

I think a machine with ATC (auto temp control) is a good compromise for cold water washing. My hot water heater is cranked up so a tub full of hot water stays very hot even after a 12 minute agitation cycle.

I would rather wash in warm or hot water than just tap cold. It just makes me feel better. My clothes thank me for it
