Hey Guys

I spent most of yesterday deciding if I should go for this( look where it is!!) , but with money/space issues as they are I cant justify it :(. For those who didnt know its a CIH badged machine- it may even have been sold by my workplace lol!

Anyone else fancy a trip to East Kent???

Seems too much for the washer to me. £80!.
Especially as he says he has tinkered with it himself, you never know what kind of damage this DIY'er has done.
Save your money for something else. Just my advice.
 
Agreed

It could last longer than most new machines, but £80 is still steep for a machine of that age.

If he'd accept £40-50 then it might look more tempting.

Quite alot of older machines seem to come up in Kent though i've noticed. There was an 80s Bendix on eBay last week in Kent, looked good.
 
Stovella Zoppas

Yes, different fascia look but same technical specs ... both of them came from the same Zanussi plant close to Milan (former Triplex factory)

The Zanussi D 90 appliances were also rebadged Rex for internal italian market.

Zanussi/Rex had a look evolution from Washcrafts to D 90 series, while Zoppas (and guess also Zanussi-made Privileg) maintained the same mid eighties look [see pics in linked older thread], just updated colours.
From brown/bronze/goldish they went to whites and greys

Was not aware Zoppas badge was used abroad too. E'lux.com itself states it's a regional brand. However I' ve also seen some Privileg dishwashers here in Italy. That is more explanable, cause they were produced in the nearby and these maybe come from factory outlet.


 
Zanussi outside ..... AEG inside

The Zanussi-badged dishwasher in this vid is rather uncommon :

- the fascia looks identical to Zoppas and Privileg machines

- racks layout is very close to contemporary AEG dishwashers. This is rather odd, cause at those times AEG was not involved in Electrolux yet.
Later was pretty common the opposite : BOL Favorit AEG sometimes were just rebadged Zanussi DW (eg Favorit 3in1)

 
Hahaha back to yesteryears!

The dishwasher in that vid is the first dishwasher this household ever used. There where yellow instead of red lights but I remember the racking very well! I also remembered that I thought that the whole tub filled itselfs with water in order to soak the dishes xD It served form 1984 untill 1997! Then came the bauknecht and within 5 years the first Miele entered the kitchen!

Zoppas was a very common brand here in Belgium. If I check the websites there are a lot of dryers offered.

One thing I don't understand. How does the rotarydail works? There are indicates around the dail and on the dail... can someone tell me how this works?
 
Zoppas - Privileg dial

The letters on the knob are used to select a cycle. You turn the knob/dial clockwise until the letter/cycle you want is on the "twelve 'o clock" position, then you start the machine.

As long as the timer works the knob turns and the pointer on the knob displays the actual state of the cycle sequence written on the fascia : prewash, wash, rinses, rinse with rinse aid, drying, as in old mieles with timer.

Guess Zanussi used the Zoppas badge in Belgium too cause they had as a target those several italian immigrants. Zoppas maybe sounded somewhat "home" to them.
