Ariston Confusion

To try and sort out the confusion about the ARISTON brand being phased our in favour of hotpoin, i contacted indesit and this is the reply they sent me:

Hello

You have contacted Indesit in the UK, it is true that most of the
Ariston range has been withdrawn from the UK market with only a small
selection of freestanding appliances now being available exclusively
though Curry's.

Ariston is still a major European brand and there are no certainly no
plans to discontinue it from the European market.

We manufacture both brands and Hotpoint is the Ariston equivalent in the
UK, the Hotpoint brand has been around for many many years and is a very
well trusted brand here in the UK.

In fact we have just been awarded the UK's Most Trusted Domestic
Appliance Brand' for 2008 by Readers Digest.

This is now the 8th year running that we have won this award

So while the ariston brand may not be present that much in ireland or uk it will not be completely discontinued.

Sounds like you got a response from the UK division which is blissfully unaware of the Indesit grand plan!

Then again, there's nothing cast in stone. If they start to see sales slipping as a result of the dual branding in Europe they may dump it again and go back to Ariston.
