The washer was/is disgusting. It has been a mouse motel for the last god knows how many years and I spent the first day hosing it down and watching bunches and bunches of rodent turds rinse down to the ground and there's still more to come. My first question: How do I get the plastic control panel off without breaking it and how to I remove the dispenser tray? There doesn't seem to be a latch or a button or anything to release it and there's lots more mouse shit inside there:
It looks like an interesting machine and I'm going to have fun taking it apart and trying to get it to work. If I'm successful, I'll have my first "boil-wash" machine and I am very happy about that!

Any information would be appreciated, especially if anyone has a PDF user's manual for the washer. It's a 10505. I think this must have been one of the first Asko washers marketed in the US. It may be as much as 17 years old, but I don't have any hard data on it. I'd be interested in any info on the dryer as well. I've already spent 50 dollars to construct a special 250 volt, 4 wire extension cord for the pair. You have to wire the dryer first and then the washer connects to the dryer via a special plug. If Ingmar Bergman needed laundry appliances, these would be them.

Here's the operating manual for the Australian version.
Note that the 1/2 load button on yours is the equivalent of our 'Quick wash' button.

I have a 12004 which is a similar machine but higher up the chain.
You can't just pull out the dispenser drawer. It is designed to stay in, but you can get it out as follows:
Remove the top cover from the machine.
You will see several rubber hoses from the fill valves to the top of the dispenser. These hoses each connect to a plastic fitting in the top cover of the dispenser. The fittings are a bayonet type fitting into the top of the dispenser, to remove them you turn them a bit (quarter turn from memory??) and pull up and out. Once all of the fittings are removed from the dispenser, you can slide the drawer out.
Do you know what is wrong with the 10505?
I believe they had problems, they were not a great model. They were BOL over here at the time. Can't remember what the problems were, possibly motor/electronics?)

Hi Ken - you should have no trouble finding user's manuals for your Asko set, if you can't find it online I'm sure Asko can get you a copy directly. I seem to remember having no trouble finding all sorts of service info online and even the service manual which I printed out for the one I had a number of years ago. Once you remove the top panel, you can get to most of the control components, water valves, etc.
