While browsing on the internet I saw an Olympia washing machine mentioned. I never had heard about it and after a Google search I ended up at the Olympia website. It looks like a welbuilt frontloader and what some people will appreciate, it still seems to have a mechanical timer (or would that be an electronic one disguised as a mechanical one?).

Hay glad you ask about. Those olympia washer are build buy a belgium company. We have had olympia's in our family for like always. All olympia's has simple design and are made of stainless steal and iron. Yes they have mechanical timers. You just put the timer on a cotton, p-press, delicats of soak program and that's all. I have the 2 models who came before. they both are 20 to 25 years and are still washing for my family.Any repair you can do by yourself. But sadly for all of you they are only available im Belgium. Any questions contact me? [email protected]

Wow!!!

AskoMiele, What a fine machine, they remind me very much of the Indesit range over here of the late 70`s, the mechanics of an Asko and programming & reliability of Miele...

Does the powder dispenser tip open to form a shute, or does it pull out to form a dispenser??

Would love to see that in action, thanks Louis for spotting it!!!

It's a dispenser draw picture included. This machine spins clockwise at 1100 rpm max. It has high standards in washability. It turns 10 sec. left pauses for 1 sec. and turns 10 sec. right on the normal cycle. Thanks for the interest.

It really looks like a Miele

Wow, a great looking machine.

The boot, the door and hinges (Particularly the latch) and the shape of the control panel look amazingly like the 70's Miele's.

How long has this company been around?

Olympia has build washers since 1948. Their first automatic came around in 1960. It was a toploader horitzontal axis washers. Five years later the door design came around. We've had this machine when I was a kid. It washed for 25 years with no troubles. Only a lot of noise. Afterwards came the model you see in the first picture.

I've uploaded some videos I made during summer. Forgive me but my voice is all over them. And because english is 3th languages, there might be some faults. But enjoy!

Machine is filling.

Wow...

Hello AskoMiele

Your English is excellent and your commentary is very easy & stylishly pronounced to listen to....the detergent dispenser is the same as the Asko, certainly on my MaytagAsko just that the main wash & pre-wash are reversed...

What spin speed does the does the Olympia 1001 do?? I love those controls, look very easy to use, many thanks for the vids...

Mike
