Just to clarify
Hi Robert and thanks for replying this early...no hurry on a reply here, but ...
Yes, to answer your question...so...
Just to clarify.. I'm referring to threads initiated. Postings will be more, of course. Sorry if I used the wrong references.
So, whether one uses the Search the Shopper's Square Forum or the Supersearchalator(cute name, btw), the retrieved threads are missing a lot of what was actually posted.
Just to better explain....I had many thread postings between 3-11-2014 and 3-23-2014, but using either search engine(Supersearchalator or "Search in the Shopper's Square Forum") returned NO thread postings.
Impossible.
Regarding what is returned, there are gaps, but I don't see a pattern, as I first thought might be happening, like a 14 day/10 day/14 day/10 day/ 5 day/ 14 day..you get the idea, just some pattern, not those particular days...that might be happening within the search algorithm. (?) But I don't see a pattern, only random gaps where my threads aren't showing up,when searching.
..and I understand that 24 hours is the usual clock time needed before databases are updated and users will see today's postings, tomorrow...that's ok, it's not what I'm referring to.
Finally, and thanks for hangin' with me on this Robert...the archive is great. In fact, it seems to capture all the threads. I'm not a programmer(well, I did it for a while, but not in Java, C or today's tools)...but do you search on the archive, if the archive is up to date, on a daily basis? Ok, I'm overstepping my territory here - just thinking, since it appears to be archiving all the threads per member, maybe it's the data base that should be searched. I'll stop here, and thank you again.
