Timeless design
I loved these machines! When you look at all of our vintage appliances, Maytags, especially those of the Sixties and early Seventies had the most simple and elegant designs. Everything was based on the center of the circle inside the square and there were no extraneously gewgaws or missed shots. I love how the buttons on this dishwasher reflect the control panels of the A906's and their predecessors. Everything was clear, simple and intelligent. They were gutsy enough to reinvent the dishwasher and place the racks for glassware on the bottom of the unit, solving the problem of accommodating oversized glassware and bowls and not skimping on cleaning ability for plates. I don't understand why they ever gave that up? It never ceases to amaze me how we have, in the last 30 years regressed to junk. It's a crime.
