Ooh La La!

What a gorgeous blender, Jeff! But, OY, that "starting" bid! Talk about a Rocky Mountain High! LOL Were they really gold-plated?

BTW: I used the new Cyclomatic last night to make smoothies!! Woo-hoo! My daughter thought it was broken because of the cycling! LOL

Cyclomatic

is great for thick stuff like smoothies and dips... using that instead of the continuous "on" prevents the air bubble from forming around the blades and helps keep things moving.

Yes that 50th anniversary model really is gold plated. I agree the starting bid is a bit much, but this is definately a collectors item!

Starting bid? What starting bid? LOL

What a beauty! I almost thought it was going to be something truly exorbitant, upwards of $250! Definitely not cheap, but not the most expensive vintage blender I've seen on eBay, and not bad considering that's about what you'd have to pay to get a halfway decent modern one these days, if not more.

new

New that 50th anniversary model would have been about $60. I remember seeing it in the stores, maybe 1973/1974?

LOL Pete, I was just going to ask if Grouch was still around. Particularly if it involves a blender, once he gets started...

Oh yes, he's still at it. I've estimated he spends between 50 to $100 per day, every day of the year purchasing stuff on Ebay, take a look at his buying history, not a day that he hasn't bought at least one thing.
