Sorry, Greg!! I have a 1968 version (one of the last made) waiting for me to finish in my garage. Then I'll have an N, J, and an E with the turquoise trimmings (release, agitator, start/lid knobs).
That one looks like it's in good condition. We dated Robert's demonstrator to (I think ... if I remember right) January 1962 on Saturday. This has to be about the same vintage or just before. The 1963 Model N I have has the "fancy" Maytag script on front; just after these.
Actually, I like the J almost better than the E. When the lid is off the J, you can really load it up; it's a big tub! The only problem was the lid ... making it more air-tight. Very easy to get water everywhere.
This machine looks like it was well cared for; somebody actually took the time to wipe it. The only thing I'd do after a thorough cleaning is replace the rollers. The bottom one looks a little worn and yellowed.
