Made some progress
R&Rd the front brakes, master cly, replace center link (that part was more expensive than I thought it would be! )
She stops perfectly, steers better. Auto choke adjusted up a bit.. Better but not perfect. I'll know more on a cold start tomorrow. Made a little adjustment to the convertible top. Still not quite right yet.
The fact that there is no date on the tires makes me a little nervous, so nothing over 50 MPH yet!
Sarah. let's hear the story, and show us the pic of the 57 Caddy!
Tom. Haven't figured out how the water got in the trunk. I ran it through the car wash so see if I could duplicate the leak, but?? We haven't had rain for me to drive it in to see, so ? That will just have to be a mystery til latter.
John. The story with the Plymouth..
I didn't know the car had belonged to my folks until right after I bought it, and went to register it at the DMV. Finding out had something to do with the cars VIN # and my last name. I happen to have known the lady that waited on me that day at the DMV. She spotted the connection and advised me to send off a request to the legal department in Sacramento.
My dad was still living at that time, so I just drove it over and parked it in the driveway and waited to see his expression LOL.
He told me that years ago, my mom was driving it and steeped on the clutch and something broke, clutch spring or fork or something. It pissed her off so bad that she said "this car won't go far" she took it down and traded it in for a Ford station wagon (with a thunderbird engine, and a automatic trans)
I found the car by coincidence out of town (about a hour away) So in all those years... Mom was right, it did get far!
