This model doesn't have it, but the TOL Lady K, of the same year, did in FACT have a 'SCOOTS' button.

What's a SCOOTS button?

Technical specs on a few select Kenmore TOL models showed the 'scoots' button was actually a mini garage door opener for the closeable Lady K console.

Problem is, when it's shut, the scoots button becomes inaccessible, thus, requiring the arduous task of actually lifting the panel to open it.  (shaking head)

 

They apparently decided including a remote control was too expensive back then, so....

do all these flat facia kenmores have this consul under neath them. i see several of these allways and did not know this was underneath. mk
