Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I think the dryer is 60s. It appears to match Lady K washers of about 1966.

I don't know if it had Wrinkle Guard, but it seems to me that it's a reasonable chance.

Kenmores In Philadelphia.....

(01). Washer is NOT a Lady Kenmore, but this could be a Kenmore Model 70 from about 1977-79, possibly 1980.

(02). Dryer IS a Lady Kenmore, and is a 1966-67 Model. This model has a Solid-State Sensor, but not a Wrinkle-Guard. The first Lady Kenmore Dryer with Wrinkle-Guard debut in 1969 (the model with the "flip-down" cover). This dryer matches the first Lady Kenmore Keyboard Washer from 1966-67.

The dryer looks, to still have the "Sears Best" sticker. Is this the same dryer that comes up in POD with the glass windows and the garden? alr2903

Avacodo 1966-67 Lady Kenmore Electric Dryer....

@ alr2903:

No it isn't. This model was out the year before.

The one you're talking about doesn't have any push-buttons on it at all. It only has a start button that appears before timer-dryness control. The one you're talking about also has a taller console, and appears in that POD ad with Jane Wyatt and the matching 1968-69 Lady Kenmore Washer. The dryer you're talking about is a 1968-69 model. This one that in this ad is a 1966-67 model.

never was fond of the bds or the dd w'pools. i always prefered the spinning without draining first. lots more action and drama.no sediment laying on the clothes.top loaders, that is.Front loaders normaly tumble as they drain.the other issue i wasn't fond of with the w'pools was the billowing or bubling up of air pockets in the sheets, slacks, dress shirts and socks during agitation on mostly their bds.my maytags never had that problem.they always had great turn over.

I think the washer is a 1977 model. It could be a '78, but that would be the latest. That timer wasn't available yet in '76, nor did they separate the Knit and the Delicate yet. Most models until 1980 or so did not have the Pre-Soak cycle. There's a Penta-Swirl under the hood, and it's an 80 series machine.

I had one of those come through my "shop" in Coffee which was a late '77 machine. The '79 and later machines had the 'ENERGY SAVER' notation above the level and temp controls, and they remained there until the 1981 panel redesign, so this one is limited to '77 or '78.

Hey Darren!

Definitely go for it! They're great machines! If the washer is too new for you, I know where it could possibly go, LOL.

Go for it! Having just acquired a 1980 Kenmore TOL machine tonight, I figure I may as well spread the karma...
