hi guys
well i was at work a couple of days ago and just listening to the radio the guys on my local station 94.5 were interviewing people about their quirky collections. The first guest they interviewed was called Leon and collected, guess what, vintage washing machines. I thought i recognized the name Leon and recognized it as our very own 'mayfan'
Am i right Leon, hehe
Well i stood and listened and leon gave a great interview despite the presenters trying to poke a bit of fun here and there. At the end he recommended people who want to know more visit www.automaticwasher.org
I was so excited i could have cheered if i wasn't supposed to be controlling the cashier girls at work.
Its great that Leon had the opportunity to talk about his collection and hobby on the air :-D
I found the podcast on 94.5's website and u can listen to it on there. CLick the link below and then download The Big Couch Podcast 13th May 2009. It starts off straight away talking about washers and then Leon comes on and has a chat.

Hey Matty!

Yes, It was me! Actually, that was my 13th interview with a 14th next week. The rest have been on ABC Radio who contacted me about 3 weeks ago from a Wanted to Buy advert and it has snowballed from there!

No one has come forth with the Simpson i want, but i've made a couple of good contacts.

That was the first time I have ever listened to a podcast!! Congrats on the interview/s, I didn't realise there were so few of you in Oz. When I worked at the old Menzies hotel in York St, Sydney, there was a cellarman there who apparently had 6 wringer washers in his house so i reckon that would make him a collector. I don't know if he is a member of this site and afraid I can't recall his name but I suspect he would love this site!! - I really enjoyed listening to that show too - sounds like a lot of fun
