cramped built-ins.

I've never seen a 24" built-in stove.
They look like they're in nice condition but how does one maneuver!

That melted backsplash though...
They look like they are doeskin color?

I wonder what brand these are. Anyone recognize?

Tom, did they use semi-gloss or flat paint on their art installation? And how did they treat the ceiling?

I have this idea that it looked much better than the pic above. If done right it could give off kind of a planetarium type vibe.

That makes sense John.
#8 my eyes were squinting a bit much trying to squeeze 5-6" out of the open space on each side of the range. 3-4" does look more believable. One just can't be sure given the camera angle and distance.

#11 That's reassuring. The way it looks it's just an accident waiting to happen. Well, even if it locks in place it's still rather vulnerable imo, but a creative idea they had anyway. And a classic stove/oven.

Melvin YES !
I see it now.
The Hotpoint built-ins back then seem to have the units rather close to the edges didn't they? And sharp square corners too.

I'm estimating the age as 1962ish, no older than 1964?

GE washer dryer

OK, what was GE thinking when they made this set?
They had enough experience under their collective belts to know washers and dryers need to be interchangeable as to which side each is on and this set only fits together one way.

This $4 Million Napa home from the 70s had/has a "California kitchen" (lighted ceiling) but apparently they think it looks alright with bare bulbs, the drop ceiling frame work, but no plexi-panels?
The kitchen and another room with the ceiling are even worse as they didn't even fully paint the back ground behind the lights. come on.

GE harmony washer and dryer

GE made plastic housings for those control panels available at a reasonable cost so that you could have them correctly mated together if you couldn’t position the machines in their preferred manner of having the dryer on the left.

The dryer door also could be reversed easily for this type of installation.

That laundry closet, what?

This kitchen is well preserved I'll give the owner credit for that.
However, can you see doing laundry with a 48" tall door?

This kitchen also has a Nutone intercom system crammed tightly under the cabinets right next to a stove, and apparently the heat from the stove has damaged it as they have another radio on hand.
