Bad Balancing, Read!

You think the Hotpoints are bad for balancing, e.g. the WT960, you should see my beko wma510s just last week it took 30 MINUTES for it to balance and spin, and another time it took 40 MINUTES and the load kept goin out of balance so bad that the drum kept banging the sides of the machine and the suspension was squeeking like mad.

Thats Mad! You should try a Samsung like what I used to have, their even worse than the new Hotpoints at balancing as I'm sure Darren, or newwave1 on here will agree lol! It didnt often get to the maximum spin speed very often because of it! Most cycles also ended being at least half an hour longer than what they were supposed to be because it would balance for so long!

I did have to test it one day tho..... so I put one small DRY T-shirt in to see if it would spin that, and to my shock it didnt! Just carried on trying to balance it lol! Now thats what I call bad hehe!

Hell yes i'll agree with that! My samsung was a b**ch at balancing. The only time i ever saw it do 1200 was when i first ran it with nothing in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember the 30min quickwash taking an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice looking but bloody useless machine, the only difference with any of the programmes was the spin speed! Same agitation for every cycle. ugh aweful.

My hotpoint is in a close 2nd for crap balancing, with every redistribution it throws it more and more out of balance. thanks to its shit suspension and terrible Out of balance software.

Thankfully......Its going soon......Very soon..

i know, thats what i hate about new machines they take so long to balance, i love the old machines that just got on with it like the old indesit induction motor machines, they were great.

Thats funny you saying your beko took so long to balance, I was at one of my best buddys house's yesterday and he has a beko 6kg 1400! Surprizingly it balanced first time with a full load! Its the first time i'd seen one of these beko's in person.I was impressed with the long tumbles, the rinse water wasn't terribly low. But you can tell the quality's not there as the motor wined like hell half way through the cycle!

How are you getting on with yours?

mine is ok, im not that mad about it as i was when i got it at christmas, cause i broke after a week, and the motor in it does wine's alot, today i had it doing a spin with a few things in, and the wine of it, god i though the motor was just goin to give up and clap out, and the suspension is rubbish, the noise of it squeeking it drives me crazy, i can't wait til i get me new hotpoint.how are you gettn on with your hotpont, you where saying in an earlier post that you were getting ris of it,How come?

Yes i am getting rid of it. I hate the damn thing. I don't like the 20minute cotton & 15minute synethic final spins. When it finally balances after 10 minutes per attempt.

It makes those really annoyin tinny clicking noises as the cabinet bows under the weight.

The supersilent only applies to the wash now, the spins are deafening. I think the bearings will be gone before its 1st year guarentee is out. Though it won't be here to see it.

I'm really disapointed with it.

My favourite brand has always been zanussi, i haven't used the hotpoint for a week, i've been using my old zanussi's.

I've just got a new job, so when i get some cash. bye bye crappoint.

so are you going to get a new zanussi model instead of the hotpoint, i'm still gonna go for the new hotpoint i just like the look of it. what are ye going to do with yours just dump it or give it to someone?

My AEG Lavamat 72640 spins even when out of balance, it doesn't take long at all to balance the load, its kinda gives up balancing and gets on with it and the drum really shakes, its hit the glass door a few times and gashed it from spinning out of balance.

Even though it spins out of balance sometimes it is going strong and is as good as when new in 2002.

Balance

I find most machines spin pretty effectively if they're loaded fully.
If you've a small bulky load, it can tend to form a 'ball' of clothes that are on one side of the machine only and the whole thing goes out of balance.

Ideally, if you're doing a cottons cycle load the drum at least 3/4 full and keep the fabrics fairly similar.

It's not just mid/low end front loaders either:

Our Miele W970 would occasionally refuse to spin if there was a small bulky load that was highly absorbent.

Also, the worst machine I've ever used for balance problems was a toploader speed queen! It would take about 3 attempts to get it to spin some loads and you'd have to manually rearrange the load around the centre agitator.

Thats what i love about my older machines, i used my zanussi for a small load today, and though it was fairly unbalanced, thanks to the counter weight around the door and the others in the machine while the drum wobbled about, the machine just stood there vibrating slightly! If only they made the older machines with huge drums lol!

Darren! - My neighbour has a 6kg Beko 1400 machine, which Ive been using actually do to it out living my Hoover! Its not a bad machine for the money I must say! They work well and rinse in a decent water level! Also have you noticed that they do the Final Spin twice at 1400! I think this is how they manage to get an A grade for spin at 1400 lol! Not a machine I'd personally like to have, but its certainly better than alot of other brands these days!, not naming any names! "Hoover cough cough! lol"

yeh there the higher end bekos but mine is not that greeat, mine dosent actually use that much water 9 times out of 10 i have to adjust the water level myself to get the cloths wet!
