Baking with Flair in St-Liboire

The heat has finally let up here, so I thought today would be a good day to test out the '62 Flair's baking abilities.

 

Trying to be efficient, I cooked up a loaf of banana bread, meat loaves, and a tray of liver that I use as dog treats for Canyon.

Oven temperature seemed just fine and everything turned out nicely.   Like the Corningware theme I'm going with for the new kitchen??

 

Can't wait to try out roasting beef or a chicken next!

And I want to know if you possess a dishwasher that can tackle such wonderful messes.

Well, let's see how that WU404 Reverse-Rack copes with some baked on residues, then!!  LOL

Thank you, Eugene!  So far, we have no regrets about fleeing the city for the semi-rural setting of St-Liboire.  

 

I'll be updating that thread in Imperial about the Maytag dishwasher shortly...

That depends. I have known some Corning Ware situations where a Corning piece or two had almost permanent residence in the lower rack of the home's dishwasher because someone was "damned if I am going to scrub those pans." Sometimes there is residue left behind even after a pot smasher cycle, even when you use lube, I mean Pam.

Paul, before you go roasting meats and cooking things that splatter, remember that the chrome liner cannot be cleaned with anything even slightly abrasive. Even if something does not scratch the chrome, you can bruise the finish or make a mark that ruins its beauty. You would save yourself a lot of work if you used a porcelain-lined oven without a glide-up glass door for things that splatter.

Cleaning Corning Ware

Those CW pans will likely not come clean in a MT RR DW unless they were sprayed with a no-stick spray.

 

Yes when cleaning the Flair oven only use lye basses oven cleaners, don't try scrubbing soil off the chrome liner.

First cake a success!

It's Hubby's birthday today, so I had to try his favourite chocolate cake recipe in the Flair.  He said if it didn't turn out, I'm in big trouble.... 

 

HA!  I think the Flair did a fine job.

The finished product.   I think I'll be able to keep the Flair a while longer now... 

 

He also wasn't sure about the Dormeyer Silver-Chef mixer now gracing the counter here in St-Lib, but that too will no doubt have redeemed itself!
