Hi All:
I am progressing nicely with a set of West Bend canisters like the ones seen in the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour episode, "The Celebrity Next Door," with Tallulah Bankhead.
I have all four of the regular canisters (flour, sugar, coffee and tea), and the Bakery Bin, a squat canister intended for buns and rolls, but which holds a 3-pound bag of Marty's favorite IAMS food perfectly. I also have the very HTF wall-mount paper towel/foil/waxed paper dispenser, and the scarce cookie canister.
But I'm having trouble with two desired pieces, and I am wondering if anyone would be willing to keep an eye out?
The first is the strainer to the grease canister. I have the canister, in really pristine shape, but the strainer is missing. I would not care what color a grease canister was, nor what shape the canister itself was in, so long as it had a strainer in decent shape.
These turn up on eBay, but they almost always go unbid, because sellers want too darn much for them - typically $15 or $20, plus shipping. If anyone finds one at thrift prices, I'd be extremely interested:[this post was last edited: 6/17/2013-11:05]
