Looks like the psychologial *defense* of reaction-formation

Body and facial hair and helium heels. What a combination!

Ruby-red slippers and purses

are, I believe, peeking out just beyond the camera.

Delightful.

Only a bear can do real camp. On everybody else, it just looks effeminate. Let's hope these girls can be persuaded to do a few longer videos...

My You Tube post

We are all entitled to our opinions, so here is what I put on You Tube in regards to this "video".

I'm gonna get blasted for this, but frankly, I could care less. This video and others like it is nothing more than adding fuel to the fire for anti-gay christians, rednecks and all the others that HATE gays and queers. It's an "invitation" to get ridiculed, harassed, insulted and bashed by the above named groups.
If you want to act like or parody girls, fine. However keep it to yourself and don't post it on You Tube. There's enough hatred out there the way it is...don't add to it.

dirtybuck:

I think we all see where you're coming from, but remember, straight guys sometimes parody women and even dress up in drag.

People who get offended over this are looking for something to be offended over, IMHO.

Perhaps they're upset that other people are having fun.

An "Explanation"

I hope it doesn't, but if my above post may make me lose my membership to this site, then I'll understand. But, even when it's in fun, it brings out the homophobia in some people. Maybe my use of the word "queer" was a bit extreme, but that's how we're viewed at times.

Even though these guys aren't in drag, that's one thing I never could stand. If I want to see a woman perform on stage, then I will go and see a woman...not a man in woman's apparel.

OK...so I guess I'm about ready to be raked over the coals. Can I at least stock up on some aloe vera first? ;)

DirtyBuck is correct on so many levels....

although this may seem humorous and it's cute, this is how society percieves us ALL, and we're ALL not like that. Most people who meet me can't believe I'm gay because I'm not some limp wristed screaming queen, and the problem is when one of our type get on TV or in the media, not to mention this is what the media looks for to portray ALL gays and lesbians, and many are not like that... they FLAME out like no tommorow, giving ALL gays a bad name, even many gays are embarassed to be in the same group, and WE wonder why we have a hard time getting equal rights, sorry, but this is my opinion, which I am entitled to, whether you feel the same or not, ALL gays I have ever met worry about giving equal rights to a group that acts like this, and don't want to be stereo type as that kind of person or group, because not all gay men are like that....to each his own....

but otherwise, seeing some hot bears singing and dancing is a cute video just the same.....Thanks Keven

Have A Sense Of Humor

I understand the GLBT community's desire to show us as responsible citizens (which most of us are) and to avoid images that we're all drag queens who recruit youngsters into the "lifestyle". But even if we're as straight as an arrow (pardon the cliche) the "religious right" will find an excuse to deny a segment of the population their Constitutional rights. So why not let the freak flag fly once in a while. As if the heterosexuals didn't have their own embarassments (see Hollywood and Washington D.C. for example).
As for the bears and their "little prayer", I'm willing to overlook the political ramifications when the skit is performed by such hot and hairy men. Oh, mama!

There NO business like SHOW business...........

Relax girls.

Take it from me, my cousin (str8 as an arrow AFAIK) appeared at the Thanksgiving dinner table in a dress and heels many times.

I never did.

That doesnt mean he's (necessarily) good at lollipops.

~But any or all of them are welcome to come trick or treatin

Make a note of it dear.

(In Kim's accent an mannerisms of BBC's "How clean is your house?

There's candy offered at his back door.

Thank you Keven for a nice laugh

I live my life for me, Not for Society, I do as i wish and as long as I am having fun and not hurting anyone else Whos business is it what or who I do. Maybe that is why I am generally a happy person. I live to MY standards no one elses!

Chris, Why stop with only one why not have a triple dip! With NUTS on top!

Gay Pride

My parents and other conservative have the mental image of Gays as men who stuff briefs, put plumes on their head and gyrate down main street. Mom once saud, "I guess being gay isn;t so bad. They always help with dishes." Oh my Lord is she new howmany cowboys put their manure covered boots under the table and wrestled in the straw she'd have died. It is a perception that gays are overly suggestive.

Hey Bill (diirtybuck)

Well, I think you know my thought on this. You & I have known each other for far too many years as it is that has not had anything to do with appliances. Not my kinda bear that I wold want. Reminds me too much of a girl. It's still perpetuating stereotypes!!

Panthera, thanks for making me smile today. Handsome and they pulled their number off quite well. I gotta watch it again. alr2903
