Hi Guys,

Was just perusing through the real estate pages looking to see how my local house prices are looking and came across this beautiful vintage/retro Australian family home. Some might take one look and say *yuck* but I think its got a charm to it. From the coloured patterning on the glass sliding doors, to the patterned carpet, to that time capsule of a kitchen complete with original stove, its a real step back in time. The laundry has the classic double laundry tub and theres a Hills Hoist clothesline out the back.

Follow the link for more images of this beautiful home. Its only a 5 minute drive from my place so i'll be looking out for home inspection days so I can go and have a proper look :D

Spectacular old home, thanks for posting this Matt!

Shame there isn't a price listed for it.

Absolutely loving the carpet in that lounge area, and the tiling in the kitchen. Looks like it was barely lived in (Or maybe some ghosts lived there?)

That house is fantastic. I always find Australian homes interesting; there's definitely some common elements that are shared between Australian and US homes, but the AU homes have some definite European touches too. You don't see that with vintage European homes. Thanks for sharing!

Just reading through the blurb and it says the house has two laundries! One internal one external with a shower and toilet in the outside one! Perfect for a washer enthusiast lol

Too bad i'm only looking at the moment lol

Very nice indeed!  Solar hot water?  Lemon tree? Very close to downtown.  alr

About a 15 minute drive into downtown Perth, great spot, Balcatta is very picturesque too, lots of local parks that are very green and its easy to get everywhere. Its an 'older' Perth suburb so lots of these late 60's properties, has a big Italian community too. I'm wondering how much this will eventually go for....

I'm guessing 1967/8.

My parents house was finished in August 1968, with Frigidaire hotplates and oven...I'm fairly certain the stove is a Frigidaire custom deluxe...from that era...the tiles in the bathroom certainly are - Johnson Bros....my parents are the green version of the wall tiles...and the tiles on the laundry floor are the brown version of my parents bathroom, laundry and toilet floor tiles, their being green.
