Help Support :

They may not look pretty, but they're in prety good shap

I think I'm just stupid.

Or I had some beer goggles on at the auction. Always wanted to play with, but not keep forever, one of these solid state Kenmore/Whirlpool sets.

Yes, it is snowing and very cold outside too.

Hey Ben, more pictures please!!! You are going to have to start looking for a house with a bigger basement!!!!

I haven't seen either of the Whirlpool or the Kenmore version of the solid state BD washer/dryer up here in NE Iowa. Greg's beautiful platinum grey Whirlpool was a first and thought it was a great washer.

When I got a call from Cory earlier in the afternoon I really didn't want to drag home another washer and dryer. But after I saw them I realized that I might not see a set here for a very long time.

Hollywood Lighting - LOVE IT!

Ended up going to the auction moments before the auctioneer hovered over the machines. In a quick fury I found myself getting a bidding card - and BAM - moments later I was the owner of the Kenmore set. What in the hell had I just done?

I hadn't even looked at them yet!

When I bid on the machines I waited for what I thought was a super low price. When the auctioneer closed the sale, he asked if I wanted both. After I said yes - he yells - SOLD TWO FOR TWICE THE PRICE! Miffed as I thought my bid was for the set and not just ONE, I kept my cool. I guess I had to pay extra for the cigarette smell that is now lingering in the basement.

Didn't score the Seeburg...but....

Glad to see some good came of the auction! I'm sure you'll get your money out of 'em when you're done, Ben. Wonder if they could've made the under-lid instructions any more complicated?

Washer panel. While at the auction I noticed a sticker on the top of the bezel describing the BEEP/noise the machine would make during cycle selection. To my surprise when I plugged it in and pressed a button, it was the same beep that I had heard years ago at a friends house! Forgot that his parents had a similar set.

Gross dispenser. With some clean-up it will look much better. Wonder if Sears still stocks this? Sure they would exchange in body parts, it would cost that much!

You can see where I think it broke during transport.

Very nice set - looks like you should go to more auctions!

You'll like that dryer - very accurate and easy to operate. I love that it comes on as soon as you mash up the lever! The rapid-advance KitchenAid does the same thing but then you hear it ticking the timer to the cycle you selected.

Broke the dispenser - barely. Pray tell what does that mean?

It's easy to get rid of the smoke smell - just take up smoking. Your friends will think you're cool and many doctors recommend it to their patients to settle their stomach and aid in digestion! I'd walk a mile for a Kenmore.

That's all folks! I love that the detergent dispenser is for liquids only - just like it's older sister, the 1960 Lady K.

The washer seemed to run fine during my dry test this evening. I have NO time right now to see if the machine works. I'll clean them up and play with them for a while but hopefully someone will want a white SS Lady K set soon.

Enjoy!

Ben
