Over the past few weeks I have been hearing MANY people talk about never seeing a "winged" Surgilator or not hearing the sounds of a belt drive in years. I have had my 76 WP for quite a few years and finally a few weeks ago got around to making and taking videos of it in action to send to a member. I just attempted doing it through upload picture but they are far too big to add that way. If anyone can give me any ideas on how to get them onto the site, By all means, let me know. I would love to share them...

File sizes

Robert,

The file sizes for most of the videos range from 3MB up to 12MB with 2 being over 12MB. CamMURRAY, I will gladly send them to you, I just warn ahead that if you are on Dial-up, it's going to take a LOOOONG time to download them.

Regards,

Geoff :)

Email address-

Hi Geoff, I work for a cable company, and I'm kinda embarrassed to say how fast my cable connection is. I have a corporate account, around 8 Mb per second download. It would be interesting to see how long it would take to download some of these. But I think there is a limit on the email size. I forget what that limit is. You may have to compress some of these files. Let us know if you work something out with Robert. In the mean time, you are welcome to try to send me some vids. Thanks, Matt

Geoff, if you pick out one that is 3mb and send it to me I can post it. The larger ones will take too much bandwidth to post, so for those email would be the best bet.

You can send all the videos to me, but please not all together on one message. I'm on a T3 at work. Addy is in my profile.

OH MY LORD LOL :)

I never expected such an overwhelming resonse LOL. OK guys, I'm running at 10MBsec Download and 1000KBsec upload, so this will take some time to zip, (most already are) and send them out singly to everyone. I will try to have most of them out by Christmas (Merry Christmas to Applianceville, you've all been such good little boys and girls LOL ;). Robert, I will send one of the better 3 Meggers to you to post just let me know which address to send them to. Anyone else while I'm at it?? let me know so I can start the sending list. :)

Neighbors had an LFA-7800. They ran into trouble with it having excessive vibration sometimes during spin. The local appliance dealer where they bought the machine (and where I worked during high school, but was no longer working there by this time) couldn't find anything wrong. I checked the machine a couple times myself, being that they were neighbors, and it didn't exhibit the trouble. So they ended up calling a dealer in a nearby town, who replaced bearings and all sorts of parts that I didn't think could possibly be bad. An accessory balance kit was also installed, a weighted ring clamped to the top of the basket . . a service kit that had apparently been released to deal with this exact problem. They didn't have any more trouble with it after that.

I have a pretty fast download speed at home (though I drool over y'all's 8MB and T3 circuits!:-), so I don't mind downloading from the site.

However it would be really appreciated if videos on the site were also available in Quicktime format or something else that was cross-platform. Not all of us use WindowsMediaViewer; at least two of us here (me & someone else) use Macintosh with Quicktime.
