I couldn't resist but it is about time I started restoring these properly instead of having so many half working machines. I might be in trouble with the door boot I've purchased. I read somewhere that the number on the ratings plate would translate as February 1984 .....
Steve Yes I have the seals Austin mentions - I cant see why the one you have bought wouldnt fit as round door machines had been in production since 1982 and surely their all the same.
Be worth checking against the old one to make sure its right - maybe even fit it and see how it goes so you have not wasted your money.
Interesting to see the earlier 1000 machine with an enamel tub as our later 1985 version has a stainless steel outer tub, we'd assumed the faster spin TOL machines like these got the stainless tubs for whatever reasons.
I'l have a nosey thru the seals at the weekend and see what I can find
Yes I'll see if it does fit when I get a bit of time. Perhaps the stainless steel tubs came in after September 84 hence the note on the seal. The enamel tub might have a different lip but I'll soon find out. I'll report back when I do it.
