I've found the following on EBay, Bendix dont market fullsize machine anymore in AU, any ideas on how far back this would date?

OMG....whats happening down under, all these machines!!!

Snap this beauty up right away, we sold that style mid 70`s here, it is a soft mount similar to the one Richard posted recently from the UK (thread 5087), the later ones had the dispenser placed to the side, the older ones in the middle, 800 rpm 9lb wash, 7lb dry, vented dryer, good blower, quick dryer.

I remember this machine from the UK in the late 1970's - my Mum wanted one. I beleive it was called the Bendix Laundry Centre

No need to convert to 50Hz to accomodate this puppy. It'll run on 60Hz just fine--only 20% faster! (That includes the timer motor too, which would mean a shorter cycle.) And as an added bonus, all of the magnetics (i.e., motors, solenoids, etc.) will also run cooler for any given load.
