The biggest problem I have with combos is the that you are drying clothes in that itty bitty drum since it is washer size. No wonder it takes so long. I think a combo would be fine for a single person who has a tight space such as a laundry closet (I've never seen one of these built large enough to comfortably fit both washer and dryer). But if you have several loads of laundry to do, I don't think they are that practical unless you want to spend your life doing laundry-but I know some of us wouldLOL

The one in this weekends circular is the same model combo I have. I do like it a lot. Actually it is running right now!
For a combo it is big and can wash 22 lbs and dry 11 to 13 lbs.
The drawback is LG service sux and they are very unknowledgeable. But it does perform very well.

The problem is not so much the small drum, but the fact that almost nobody makes a 220 volt or gas unit like the old combos. That's what it takes for a speedy dry. They sort of assume that people are using these as portable units and forget that a lot of people have permanent gas hookups and/or regular 220V 30 amp outlets and don't use them as portables.
