First of all, are there REALLY 500 seeds in that pack? And what if they just happen to dissolve in the wash? Then they'd disappear, never to be seen again!
Thankfully I came along in this world long after soap curds were an issue. I shudder to think how I would handle them today in my non overflow rise SQ.

This has NOTHING to do with neutral draining in a top load washer, yes the way most FL washers drain is the BEST way to drain, but if you try the packet of 500 seeds in your Unimatic and in your 56 Kenmore I will bet you a very good dinner if the KM with NEUTRAL DRAIN does not get rid of more seeds than the Unimatic.

it weighs( which the machine does before adding water), saves ( electricity, water, and time), washes cleaner( your full wash load with only a small amount of HE Detergent).

Betty didn't actually DO that seed test-she tells you to go to the Westinghouse dealer and THEY will do the test.I wanted to see Betty do the Seed test-film clip was a disappointment!They clipped out the test!
At a Maytag sales meeting they had an ice cream bar where you could build your own Sundaes then all of the napkins were put in a Neptune that was hooked to a 30 gallon electric water heater. John threw some of the nuts into a napkin and sort of wadded it up. When the lady was unloading the Neppie at the end of the meeting, she was grossed out by the presence of the nut pieces. Whereas previously she had been taking the napkins out and holding them up, she began lifting them and unfolding and shaking them close to the door. Actually, I think I remember that washing them in hot water left some dairy-based chocolate stains as well. You have to get the protein component of the ice cream out in cool or warm water before you go after the butterfat with hot water.
There was no arguing that tumbler washers were great at getting rid of heavier than water soil as Westinghouse proved with the cup of sand test. Bendix did similar testing with ATOMIC dirt and a Geiger counter. Snap, Crackle, Buzz and Pop were not just for Rice Crispies in the Bendix testing labs.
