Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

That's a favorite washer model of mine, from about 1970 or 71. It has alphabet settings, but it's not the locking dial kind. I think this was one step below the Lady.

Scott, I thought of you when I saw that washer--knew this was the one you've mentioned a few times before. And then I saw your post. :-0

Scott:

I agree with you that THAT was a nice looking machine back then. That is a 1970-71 Kenmore combined with a 1969-70 Kenmore "All American" Dryer. But I think this particular model washer was three models below the Lady Kenmore of that year. That year, the # 2 Kenmore also featured 14 push buttons (the same as the Lady Kenmore) with the dial stop system (and that model also had a detergent dispenser on the right side of the lid as did the Lady Kenmore...... as well as the "Quiet Pak" package and a Vari-Flex agitator...... only differences between the 1969-71 Lady Kenmore and the # 2 Kenmore models were that the Lady Kenmore had a three speed motor and the cover that covered the control panel, and the # 2 Kenmore had a two speed motor, and did NOT have the control panel cover). The model that was pictured and described on "e-bay" was the # 4 model in that line that year (it was positioned below the Model 800).

Oh...... by the way, did you see today's POD????? That's a picture of the 1961 Lady Kenmore.

P.S.: I hope that dryer works for the lucky person who is lucky enough to pick it up. Neither machine is in showroom condition, but my god...... that dryer appears to be in rough shape.

Dryer

That was the dryer I had before the '78 LK's were bought for the kitchen re-modeling. It was purchassed new, and paired with a 1963 LK that was in the garage.
