Big vs Small: Newer GE TL Wash Performance

new Ge washes well

My mom just purchased that new Ge washer GTW330ASKWW and matching dryer. It washes really well and has the deep rinse. It seems to be made very well,only thing she said its loud.

At least Whirlpool's design doesn't sound like a dying bread machine and the agitator isn't about to flop off.

They are all loud honestly...or louder than what some people are used to. Seems odd since I'm sure a lot of people came from Whirlpool Direct Drive machines...hahaha. That's why I like my Maytag because it's very quiet. The impeller version of the GE seems to be quieter too.

Hahah, that's a great point.
Many of these people come from WP direct drive machines which were loud as hell.
Only things louder than a DD were the Maytags from the 80s.
My parents' LA511 DROOOOOOOAAAAAAAANNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS, so loud, you can hear it thorughout the house.
But they've never complained.

So when I read reviews online of people raking these machines across the coals for being noisy, even though they are in their own respect, they're NOTHING compared to the washers of old.

That shimmying GE is weird. Their floor must have issues or it's not properly level. No real reason a suspension rod machine should move at all like that IMO.

Seems most people are happy with the new GE's though. The majority of consumer reviews are very positive.

Found the 3.8cf model doing a load of clothes, must say the action continues to be impressive!

I agree! GE has some very good machines for those that want a traditional washer.
