Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of maybe replacing the Bosch soon because the door seal and bearings are on their way out. It is about 7 years old and we would probably sell on eBay as spares. Sometimes it feels like my clothes have been washed in an Indesit Moon because sometimes I end up with little bits of mould on my clothes. I also just want a change. I like the new Hotpoint range and the Aquarius Extra seems a nice one. Can anyone give any other machine recommendations? It needs to have:

1400rpm spin or more
6/7 kg capacity
Cottons 30
Quick Wash
Variable Spin
Variable Temperature
Less than £350

Thank You

Jacob

P.S: I don't want another Bosch.

It says in your profile you are going to replace the bearings in your Bosch!

In terms of mould build up on clothes, you should use a little more detergent and wash at 60C occasionally. Plus I recommend a 90c wash once every two months to clean it out!

Anyway New machines could be
Hotpoint Aquarius+?
Whirlpool machine?
Beko?
I take it Siemens & Panasonic too expensive?

Cottons 30
Quick Wash

Both of the above are utterly pointless and not good for your machine. Higher temperatures get better results and keep your machine mould free and smelling clean.

I would recommend Gorenje machines (link below). Far more reliable and higher performing than anything the Indesit/Hotpoint company are churning out. Also, why bother spending more money on a Hotpoint when, under the facia, it is exactly the same as it's Indesit equivalent?

My gran has a Gorenje dishwasher, she absolutely hates it

Any particular reason? They're a darn sight higher performing and more reliable than anything Hotpoint are churning out. Replacing a Bosch with a Hotpoint machine would certainly be a huge mistake.

Lots of Stuff

The electrics went first, then the top shelf broke, the machine door wouldn't close properly because of a broken seal and eventually the power went, tripping the house electrics. I got to smash it up in the end. There is now a Zanussi that is 1 year old now and the Gorenje was 18 months old when it broke.

That seems to be more unlucky than anything else. I've not heard of any trouble with Gorenje machines.

Zanussi dishwashers are one of the worst - terribly notorious for low performance. But a prime example of how 2 appliances by the same company can be totally different. Beko washers and dryers are another example. Don't write off Gorenje machines just yet - they're a lot better than you'd imagine.

Gorenje - Adverts vs reality

Gorenje Dishwashers aren't made by Gorenje, they're made by cheap chinese manufacturer that is badging Proline, Tecnolec, Midea etc, sadly Candy dishwashers are in UK made by them.. Unfortunatley Gorenje DW's have better side - few of their models are made by Smeg, aswell as Candy has their own dishwashers, but both of them aren't available in UK (as far as I could see on the internet). Gorenje never made, and still doesn't make it's own.

Gorenje is here kinda domestic brand, just like Hotpoint is in UK, 40% of all white goods sold here are Gorenje, and they are literally everywhere around me, and I wouldn't agree that they are that brilliant.. their top models (with blue displays) are built better than the others, even having metal outer tubs, but others aren't that good at all - god I've heared of many cases as Jacob (with washing machines too).

Let me tell you just one example.. A month ago, Gorenje released new range of washers with new display.. Advertising campagin was great, made me think they are built better than Bosch (I really thought that), those pictures online, and in paper - just everything, and then I went into Gorenje STUDIO (Gorenje shop), the door was hard to open and close, draw was flimsy, and the famous display (that is the whole point of the new line) is that good made that if you dont bend down to look it straight, if you look at display instead of say 02:22, you will se 88:88 (you know what I mean with those displays)?

And that just happens to me about every 2 months, I get full of great images, creative adverts, feeling that it is built like a tank, go so positive looking about them, and after interacting with them I am disappointed, as it is really not far from Beko...

We have a Gorenje & a Hoover 12 place dishwasher in our store at the moment. The only difference is that the inside of the Hoover has a plastic bottom spray arm & the Gorenje has a metal one.

Exactly what I was talking about

and the Hoover you have must be from ones described in video in the link...

Dishwashers that are made by Candy are Futura, Futura3, EvoSpace, and Dynamic 3D (as far as I know only DDY068 model available in UK) however those mentioned in the video from the link are chinese thing, that only has a label from Hoover/Candy, Gorenje etc and not a single connection more :/

Zanussi washing machine

This Zanussi washing machine looks very good and has all the features that you require. They're better built than anything Indesit make and I found the cheapest price in the UK for you.
