not that being made in Turkey means ANYTHING.

If you after a machine with these features and you like the look of it for the price then go for it!

Beko/Blomberg are incredibly well made and reliable AND feature packed its a wonder how they do it for the money.

No he asked why so cheap and I responded it is made in Turkey. Nothing else to read into that, move on please.

Turkey has lower labor costs than continental Europe. It has nothing to do with whether the Turks can or cannot make a good product. It has everything to do with the fact, despite all the manufacturing infrastructure on the continent, Turkey represents a balance of low labor cost along with decent manufacturing quality.

Thus the same reason you see TONS of entry level Semi-Auto shotguns made there. Kahan, Akar, Yildiz, Huglu, TriStar, and yes, even mighty Beretta has some components made there. Ever pick up a Charles Daly? Yup, made in Turkey.

For the EXACT same reasons appliances are made there.

Blomberg is an Arçelik brand; Arçelik being the market leader in Turkey. This company is know for making good quality yet very affordable products. If I was shopping for an appliance on a budget, I'd look no further then Beko/Blomberg.

Blomberg is a new brand to me.  No one in the area sells it, so haven't seen one in person.  Consumer Reports gave three models fairly high marks except for noise, as all were rated only Good in that area.  All these models priced between $750-$850.

The DWT55300 is next in the ratings after my GE, with a score of 79.  The GE edged it out over noise.

DWT55300  Overall Score: 79;  Cleaning: Excellent

DWT54100  Overall Score: 78;  Cleaning: Excellent

DWT55500  Overall Score: 77;  Cleaning: Excellent

Then there's this:

DWT55100  Overall Score: 44;  Cleaning:  Good
