Bluing Powder Recipe

I miss the old La France and Blu White powders. The other day I was surfing the web and I came across this recipe:

1 1/2 cups baking soda
1/4 teaspoon Prussian Blue pigment (art supply store)

I mixed up a batch this morning. I added enough for pale sky blue water. It works beautifully.

I may have to try that....I mis LaFrance, and how it would turn the filterflo stream blue!.....did a nice job on stains as well....

One word of warning; if you improperly mix it in, it will also leave blue marks like the La France did. I found that out on a load of old yellowing wash cloths. The baking soda does give the detergent an extra bit of kick but most don't need it nowadays.
