Bob Barker retiring

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Amazing, I've watched him since I was a little kid on Truth or Consequences and I'm 50 now. I still watch TPIR occassionally and either he's a great actor or it's true that he genuinely loves doing the show. I believe the latter. Why else would he keep on keeping on, he doesn't need the money that's for sure.

Being around those Barker Babes(tm) can't be so bad either.

Rumors abound - he's a dirty old man, too...

i have loved TPIR ever since i was old enough to watch TV. i remember when bob had dark hair and they gave fur coats as prizes! im sure the pricing games helped me greatly, as a child, when it came to numbers. thank you Mr Barker, for all the years of entertainment in front of the boob-tube.

Fred and I went to a taping..

Last year after the VCCC convention in LA. It was a blast!! We arrived outside CBS at 4:45am, and finally took our seats in the studio about 4:30pm.
the taping lasted about 55 minutes, and Bob talked to the audience during the breaks. Bob seemed very spry, he had to be with all the cameras and cables and stuff on that stage! When it was over, we kept our nametags on, took the bus up Fairfax to Santa Monica Blvd, and then walked down Santa Monica Blvd to our Hotel. Once back in our Hotel we carefully peeled the nametags off to save them for posterity. My nametag is today framed, along with my ticket, a picture of Fred and I taken that afternoon, and a reciept from The Blessed King Bakery across the street from CBS, where I went for coffee at 5am that morning.
It was thrilling to watch our episode when it finally aired too.

NOOOOO!!!!!

The world is going to end now! Better start Tivo'ing some episodes before they're all gone.

Another childhood memory going away.

:-(

JUMP THE SHARK!

It just won't be the same. Never will be the same. No more Gibson appliances, no more Johnny Olson. What a sad time this is.
