<span style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">I have been using my Maytag Reverse rack for a couple of months now.  For the most part I am happy with the loading (now that I am getting used to it) and the results haven't been too bad.  I've had a few rejects and up until now I felt my rejects were due to how I loaded the machine.</span>

 

<span style="font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva;">Last night I loaded a crusty baking dish directly over the spray from below as I was curious to see how it would come out.  I only sprayed the bottom of the pan so the sides were pretty well stuck on.  Here are the results.  I have a few spots I had to soak off.  I used the Pots and Pans cycle with the Temp Boost.</span>

My 95 Whirlpool is crammed even more every time it is turned on to Normal cycle, Air Dry, BUT I do pre-rinse everything first and the only crud I usually find is on the bottom of coffee cups, as my water is very hard. My very first job at 15 was working in a hospital kitchen. All things sent into the dishwasher were supposed to be loaded so the spray got cleaned. I still load facing the spray arms and my dishes are clean. I think loading the right way, as Ralph just showed makes all the difference.
 
The problem I always had with the racking in those old Maytags was the inability to fit a large stock-pot or spaghetti pot. A Kitchen Aid will easily fit one on the bottom rack and still allow movement of the top rack.

I like your bob load. My first experience with the reverse rack was with the one in my parent's house. Circa 1980. It was the first dishwasher I've used so to me the reverse-rack did not require a learning curve. I bet that crusty baking dish you refer to would have some clean had it been placed a few rungs closer to the back of the dishwasher, away from the plates and silverware basket. It would have more exposure to the center spray nozzle. I love those Maytags.
