I picked up one of these at a Starbucks a few days ago and it's a neat little item. It's a travel mug with a built-in french press.

You heat water in a kettle and measure a tbsp of coffee (or whatever you like) into the press. Pour the water in and let it sit for 3 minutes. If you like sugar and milk, add it and mix it with a spoon. Screw the lid on and slowly push the plunger down.

For some reason water right out of the kettle is hotter than a regular coffee pot but it doesn't boil when it goes into the french press. The coffee even makes that thin film of froth on the surface.

Bottom line: It makes the most PERFECT cup of coffee you've ever tasted. The coffee is rich and full flavored. It gives vac pot coffee a run for the money and it makes drip coffee taste like burnt water.

I have the clear plastic one from Starbucks but here's a stainless steel one for $29.99 .. oooooh aaaaah coffeeeeee

Electric French Press--

At one time, Chef's Choice (they of the wonderful knife sharpeners, knives, and electic kettles) offered an electric French Press coffee maker. I have no idea if they still offer it. Opinions about the device were decidedly mixed at Amazon.

(if it has a cord, Jaune is interested :)

Love and laughter!
