So I checked the price of plain borax in the grocery store this week. It was $4.99 for 4 lbs, 1 oz. I thought I would go home and see what I could do online. WOW! is that stuff expensive no matter where you look. I guess I will go back to the store and get it if I get it at all.

Like washing soda

Borax is also dense, so you'll pay a price for shipping as well.

Have found borax cheaper at places like K-Mart or other discount stores. Sometimes even shopping around different supermarkets can yield results in finding the stuff cheaper.

The 99c Only Store, sells "Blast" all fabric bleach for -- wait for it -- 99c a box.  The main ingredient is Borax.  I need to make a run for more of it, as I'm on my last box.  It's packaged to resemble a box of Clorox 2.

I don't know if "Blast" is produced by Rinso, but if it is, the 99c Only Store owns the Rinso brand so it's offered exclusively by that retailer.  If it's not owned by Rinso, you may be able to find it at other dollar stores.  And despite the image below, "Blast" is nothing new.  I've been buying it for several years.
