Bosch dishwasher Draining question

Hi!
Is it normal for the Bosch dishwasher to drain in 3 or 4 spurts?
Instead of a continuous draining?

Yes it is MaytagWC401:

It does this to help clean out the filters in the bottom. I have a SHX46. During this process, it is also cleaning the sensors for the next water change.
 
I would have to say yeah. My Miele does the draining in spurts...and the circulation motor is still running when the drain pump kicks on. When the water level drops then the circulation pump will stop. I think its that way to keep drawing any soil that is in the water down into the microfine filter area and then pumped out. Its one way to clean and keep the filter clean as well as the tank.
 
My Kenmore Elite Tall Tub does the same thing during the PreWash, and main wash if necessary, to fush soil out of the filter while washing.
